Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, Mrs. Stephanie Harden, our Admin Intern here at MHMS, created this really fantastic iMovie featuring our MHMS teachers when they were younger!
Thanks Mrs. Harden for your awesome work getting this slideshow together!
Wow, what a fantastic idea! I’m wondering if it was a lot of work getting the teachers to agree to hand in a picture from their youth. I love the idea, and am hoping to do something like this in the next school year… any tips??
Hi Thanks for your comment! I’d LOVE to take credit for this wonderful video but one of our amazing Admins, Ms. Harden did it!
But….I’ve done it before & she’s on summer break so I’ll try & do my best to answer. Scan or take a digi pic of teacher old school photos – How to get them? Just ask for them! Not everyone will want to participate but I have a hint – show or share a rough draft with the staff, or send an email out to staff that includes the best/surprising/cutest, pic you’ve gotten so far, maybe asking “Is This You?”— and then “Well, it could be!- Don’t get left out!” Give a deadline that’s less than 10 days and more than 2 days & this might encourage teachers to join in.
Creating on a Mac: Upload all jpegs to your iPhoto — you can crop, adjust, enhance, or sharpen using the Edit feature. Then, using a new version of iMovie –bring in the pics from iPhoto, add transitions, captioning, & music from iTunes and EXPORT as Quicktime. Voila! Good luck!
